There is no end to the recipes you can make using castile soap. The Dr. Bronner’s brand and family has been producing liquid castile soap since the 1880s and prides itself on its 18-in-1 product. It can be used for so much more, though, and essential oils make the perfect addition to an already incredible product.
My family has suffered with chemical allergies for many years, so I grew up very familiar with using natural ingredients such as baking soda and vinegar. I hadn’t tried castile soap at all, but when Isaac and I were married, I bought a bottle on a whim. 3.5 years later, and I’m using it daily for anything from hand soap to washing floors, to even cleaning our toilet and sinks.
I love how versatile it is, and how oils can be added for scent and for health benefits, too. One of the most simple products I can replace in our home is hand soap. So many soaps give me an instant headache and can often cause my throat to get irritated. It’s so easy to make your own hand soap, though, and it really is inexpensive. After work today, I came home and put together another bottle of foaming hand soap and thought I’d share the recipe.
